I have always been involved in sports and coaching as a student, through out my career. I was fortunate to play during my post secondary school career and earn an athletic scholarship. Since then I have made the transition from player to coach and have been enjoying ever minute. I always give my time to coach sports to to the school / community, this last year I coached the Central Middle School Cross Country Runnign Team, Basketball, Badminton, and Track and Field. I have had some success at the high school levels earn provincial berths in both volleyball and basketball with the ASAA.
I have also been active in the community coaching at the Collegiate level in the ACAC conference. I coached with the Keyano College Huskies for two years in Fort McMurray. Recently for the last two years I have been fortunate enough to coach with the Red Deer College Kings basketball program in the ACAC. My first year as the lead assistant coach, we earned a silver medal in the ACAC conference, earned berth at the CCAA National Tournament in Turo Nova Scottia where we lost in the Bronze medal match to finish 3rd in the country. This past year we managed to earn a gold medal at the ACAC Conference Finals, and went on to play at the National Tournament in Montreal Quebec where we placed 5th in the country.
Being a former Kings athlete myself and alumni I am very excited to be apart of the sporting community in Alberta and Red Deer. I am very excited to build the community relationship between Red Deer College and the outlying communities it serves. I believe this to be a very important relationship to establish and build upon, as the both the public school system, and the college can benefit from serving each other and educating our future students.
